Police in Nakaseke have apprehended a suspect linked to the murder of a woman and her granddaughter in Wakayamba Village, Kikamulo Sub-County.

The victims, Specioza Nakato, 53, and her three-year-old granddaughter, Sheilla, were discovered dead in a coffee plantation on Wednesday night.

Sam Twineamazima, the Savannah Regional police spokesperson, identified the suspect as Ben Tushabe, 33, a resident of the same village.

Twineamazima stated that the police canine unit played a crucial role in the arrest, as the dog tracked the trail through several homes and stopped at Tushabe’s residence.

Despite Tushabe being in custody, Twineamazima noted that investigations are ongoing, with efforts to locate additional accomplices.
