During the peak of her music career, Grace Nakimera unleashed a series of hit songs and established herself as one of Uganda’s premier musicians, skillfully competing with prominent male artists for the spotlight. Her music resonated across the airwaves and garnered numerous awards at a time when the industry was fiercely competitive.
In an interview with Shalom Kaweesi, Grace explained that she always measured her success by comparing herself with her peers. She went on to name the three female artists from her era whom she admired the most: Cindy Sanyu, Juliana Kanyomozi, and Iryn Namubiru. Grace remarked that Cindy (Sanyu) stood out for her exceptional talent and consistently impressive work.
She also recalled Juliana (Kanyomozi) with great admiration, describing her as nothing short of an angel in those days. Grace vividly remembered the way she commanded attention and respect whenever she appeared, embodying elegance and poise in every performance. Additionally, Grace praised Iryn Namubiru for her remarkable abilities, emphasizing that her artistry was equally outstanding.
