On May 11, singer Mr. Lee, whose real name is Richard Mugisha, took to Instagram to reveal that he has a child with Agnes Kirabo, the Youth MP for Central Region.

The B2C musician shared the news on Mother’s Day, also mentioning Kirabo’s intentions to contest for the Woman MP seat in Luwero District.

Speculation about their child first emerged in June 2024, but neither had publicly confirmed it until now.

Kirabo, an alumna of Makerere University with a master’s degree in Business Administration, is a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

In the 2021 elections, she triumphed over six male contenders, securing 780 votes to become the Youth MP for Central Region, defeating former Makerere University Guild President Ivan Bwowe.

Before joining parliament, Kirabo held roles at the NRM secretariat as secretary for female affairs and auditor. She is currently a member of the Committee on Trade, Tourism, and Industry.

Kirabo is not the first MP with ties to a musician. National Female Youth MP Phiona Nyamutoro is married to singer Eddy Kenzo, and the couple shares a son.

Nyamutoro, the Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development (Minerals), confirmed today she will run for Nebbi District Woman MP.
